Atomic have just opened a purpose built facility to cater for full recording sessions but offer music production training courses too. Based around Logic, Pro Tools & Ableton, Atomic needed flexibility in their system to cater for varying requirements.

Kazbar Systems has just completed the full install of Gospel Oak Studio, a new private recording facility near Birmingham.
Owned by musician and composer John Kelly and located in a converted barn in the grounds of his home, Gospel Oak Studio has been equipped to the highest specification. Alongside Prism ADA8 converters, the equipment list also includes a Solid State Logic AWS900 console, Focal and Genelec monitoring and Logic with a vast array of plug-ins and outboard including Bricasti Reverb and Crane Song pre's.

The Prism Sound converters selected by Bayliss were highly recommended by Gavin Miller, of Kazbar Systems. In order to keep the project as simple as possible, Kelly and Bayliss decided to use just one dealer who could review, recommend and supply all of the equipment they needed.

The time had come to upgrade and Alan decided to upgrade his core Mac system from G4 to Intel running Pro Tools HD. Quite a jump but the whole crossover handled by Kazbar Systems.

The Bass-O-Nator is a custom built bass trap designed and built by Green & Green. They can be free standing or mounted to walls and provide the only real solution to combat standing wave problems in studios where critical listening is vital. The resonator is tuned to "trap" problem bass frequencies. In addition, it will absorb mid/high frequency room reflections. While the amplifier, rather than an off the shelf approach, is a bespoke discrete bi-polar design from one of the best designers in the business, Tim Di Paravicini who's company Esoteric Audio Research produces some of the finest amplifiers around. After testing many woofers we selected a European company for their quality and consistency, for The Rock a 50kHz ribbon HF and 6.5" woofer are used.

We wanted to produce a brutally honest monitor and we've certainly done that, our measurements indicate this. The cabinet is sealed, it has no port, which is unusual for studio monitors, but the difference in bass accuracy is incredible, it also has very good low-end extension too.
